Before Umi opened its doors in 2017 locals had to venture outside the area if they wanted to try good modern Japanese food. These were sad times, but thankfully Umi changed the game, bringing not only Japanese cuisine, but a truly unique dining experience to Teesside.
What’s Going On?
Word quickly spread about Umi, and those who were unfamiliar with modern Japanese food like sushi were quickly converted, and their ever-growing customer base allowed them to move into a bigger place on Linthorpe Road in 2020.
Check out the menu at Umi and you will find a wonderful selection of dishes including Bao Buns, Skewers, Ramen, Uramaki, and Sushi. All beautifully presented and all delicious.
Their cocktails are nothing short of spectacular, with so much effort going into creating them it’s almost a shame to drink them and spoil their beauty, but trust us, you’ll be happy you did as they taste incredible.
